inquiry based instruction
3 relevant connections student teaching
· I believe that inquire based instruction is something that I could use in all of my classes that I will be teaching
1) in AG mech by presenting a problem and having them solve it or find the explanation for why it is happening. Such as if a light wont turn on anymore, they should have to figure out why and present a solution to fix it
2) in Plant science I could present information about how the environment changes growing, and ask if we only grew under red lighting what would happen, students would have to experiment and collect data to answer
3) in animal science I could ask if different ingredients in feed have an effect on weight gained.

· I believe this is something that we do in AEE 350 where we are presented with an issue and are asked to solve to it by building something. Such as this past week we built dog houses to solve the problem of a shelter needing more housing. We went through the inquiry based learning while creating the dog houses.
· This also relates to somethings we learned in AEE 311and educational phycology connecting it to the thought process of students and what we know about how students learn.
Triangulated Connection
· Since we know that inquiry based learning is helps students learn this is a resource that could be helpful to hear some best practices from a teacher that struggled with teaching it.
